In GraphicsMagick from version 1.3.30 to 1.4 snapshot-20190403 Q8, there is a heap-based buffer overflow in the function WriteMATLABImage of coders/mat.c, which allows an attacker to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted image file. #IMAGEMAGICK GRAPHICSMAGICK CODE#TYPO3 8.x before 8.7.25 and 9.x before 9.5.6 allows remote code execution because it does not properly configure the applications used for image processing, as demonstrated by ImageMagick or GraphicsMagick. In GraphicsMagick before 1.3.32, the text filename component allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted image because of TranslateTextEx for SVG. In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20190403 Q8, there is a use-after-free in ThrowException and ThrowLoggedException of magick/error.c. In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20190423 Q8, there is a heap-based buffer overflow in the function ImportRLEPixels of coders/miff.c. In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20191208 Q8, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in the function EncodeImage of coders/pict.c. In ImageMagick before 7.0.8-25 and GraphicsMagick through 1.3.31, several memory leaks exist in WritePDFImage in coders/pdf.c. GraphicsMagick before 1.3.35 has an integer overflow and resultant heap-based buffer overflow in HuffmanDecodeImage in magick/compress.c. GraphicsMagick through 1.3.35 has a heap-based buffer overflow in ReadMNGImage in coders/png.c. In GraphicsMagick, a heap buffer overflow was found when parsing MIFF. As a workaround, users who process based on user input should always sanitize the user input by allowing only a constrained set of operations. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.12.2 of image_processing. This method is called internally by Active Storage variants, so Active Storage is vulnerable as well. #IMAGEMAGICK GRAPHICSMAGICK SERIES#Prior to version 1.12.2, using the `#apply` method from image_processing to apply a series of operations that are coming from unsanitized user input allows the attacker to execute shell commands. Image_processing is an image processing wrapper for libvips and ImageMagick/GraphicsMagick. This allows us to determine if two images can be considered "equal".Ĭurrently gm.compare only accepts file paths. Graphicsmagicks compare command is exposed through gm.compare().
